Stud Service Information
We offer stud service to approved outside females through live cover, or AI (which will be an additional fee if preferred).
Health Requirements
Every female planning to breed to one of our studs must provide a current negative brucellosis test prior to breeding within 10 days of breeding, with no exceptions.
We also require that females are up to date on all appropriate vaccinations.
Stud Fee
Our stud fee is $2,500. The full amount is due at the time of breeding upon a successful tie, or a successful AI, if chosen.
If the breeding does not take, you may try again on the females next heat cycle at no cost.
Mating Process
- If you are planning a live cover breeding, please notify us as soon as your female begins her heat cycle.
- Brucellosis testing can take 5–7 days if your veterinarian sends it to an outside lab, so early testing is strongly recommended
- Expect to bring your female during her ideal fertile window (typically 48–72 hours after ovulation) for 2–3 ties. Progesterone testing is your choice, but is recommended to determine optimal breeding dates.
- If you choose an AI, an additional fee of $130 will be charged per AI to have a specialist come perform the insemination
Boarding
If necessary, we can board your female during her breeding window.
- Boarding is $25 per day and will be added to the stud fee
- Please bring your female’s regular food and anything that helps her feel comfortable
